Another helpful place to inform your friends, family members and business associates is Plaxo. Ive been using them for years. Any new info posted in my two "cards" (biz or personal) is sent to people I choose to receive updates. Very handy.

Had to add... Plaxo is great especially when you need to recover your address book when you computer decides to die. Or when you get a new computer adding the address book is a breeze.

| reply to cbrain anyone following the strategy of accepting a new phone number should also remember to register that new number with the "do not call" registry site: »www.donotcall.gov/ -- "Teleblend has an agreement with the Assignee to solicit and support former SunRocket customers." |

| Changing phone numbers is not as bad as indecision or dealing with such a broken porting system. I made a sudden decision to cancel my SunRocket service and abandon my phone number on 6-6-2007.
»Your call is very important to us ...
I immediately sent an email to everyone in my directory informing them of my updated contact information. Today most of us have several contact points, including home and office phone, cell, email, instant message, webpage or social network page. Every email I send includes a sig with phone, cell, fax and email. Later that day SunRocket fixed my problem and I kept the line but did not rescind my notice to use a new number. I now have logs to see how many did not get or react to my notice. Most people started using the new number. Many sent me an acknowledgment. Two frequent callers continued to use the old number until incoming stopped last week, but then used the new number without problem. My wife was not as thorough at sending notice and got 1 call from someone that did not get notice and another to her cell notifying her that our home number rang fast busy. Another neighbor emailed her about the fast busy then stopped by to see if everything was ok. My point is that all were easily able to make contact. I'm sure there will be a few more, but have little doubt anyone will have trouble finding us.
This was all much easier and less stressful than my semi successful port from P8 to SunRocket in May 05.
