·AT&T Midwest
1 edit | AT&T needs to realize this U-Verse is really nothing more than a "cable company". Most cable companies, with the exception of mine being the only one in NE OH that hasn't upgraded, already offer everything U-Verse offers. Time Warner starts not even a mile down the street from me and they offer that 15mbps speed tier, I know several people who have it and love it. I know how stingy AT&T is about deploying premium services, most people around here can't even get DSL, but I have a feeling Lowellville itself won't see U-Verse for some time. But the demand isn't here especially since most of the people fed from the Lowellville CO can either get Time Warner or Armstrong cable. And we all know they're not going deploy any nodes to the rest of us where Rapid Communications LLC serves because they don't see this neighborhood profitable, that being noted by the DSL availability.
If AT&T wants to be the "better option" they're going to have to offer faster packages and of course at a lower price than the cable companies, kind of like what they already do with DSL now. -- "You're as worthless as a screen door on a submarine!" | They already are lower in price then cable here. Free DVR and free WIFI router. As you can see in the next article, comcast and fios is raising their rates. You get a $10 price break on TV + DSL. So I'm paying about $15 for my 3mb service. $10 if I wanted 1.5mb service. |

Uverse will soon be available for me and i will tell them to go to hell with that crap internet. They only offer what they deem is best not what the customer wants. |

sm2016a join:2004-03-02 Belleville, IL | It is not just this company that is like this. There are many that only do what is best for them in the long run. All depends on what the company wants, at&t wants $$$$$$$$ and they do not want to spend a lot of money to upgrade the current systems to provide anything better than vdsl. It is how they have been and will continue to be. Have to love their slogan "Your world delivered". More like "Your world delivered my way". |

 | They do offer faster speeds then 6mb. But you can't afford it.

For your comparison to be valid, you should compare the business/enterprise offerings of the cable company to ATT's business/enterprise offerings. You would find that they are able the same for enterprise service, but differ at the small business level.
For example, the small business service I have at my house blows away the small business services that ATT offers in the southeast region and costs lost than the package (6Mbps/512kbps) that comes closest to what I currently have (7Mbps/512kbps with Powerboost). -- Prove it... Save the Internet Time (NTP) service, use the pool. |

... and in the next 'wave' of competition TW will lure more business phone customers away from AT&T. »www.cable360.net/ct/sections/col···880.html
AT&T is loosing residential land lines right and left now businees phones are next.
The writing is on the wall... |
