I am working on some research and I was wondering if anyone had any information on what kind of performance loss you have when you covert your signal from fiber over to cable when it enters the home also how does this effect upload speeds....Thanks for the help |

| reply to gelle00 I would not think is affects speed at all. Any loss would be compensated by gain so the ONT meets functional specs.
For example first generation BPON units use ATM and raw data rate of 622/155 Mbps.
Later GPON versions are 2/1 Gbps and do not use ATM saving the ATM cell tax.
