Re: HD Pixellation Back (Again) in Philly

Well, I was watching a show recorded Friday on SCI-FI and I had the weidest experience. About 10 minutes into the show an Allstate commercial came on and the DVR kept jumping between 10 minutes and 55 minutes (with pixellation) and finally settled out at 55 minutes meaning the show was almost over. This was recorded at 10:00 PM (EDT).

Anyone else ever seen something this weird?

Just watched a little bit this morning - not seeing any tiling - but was watching Food HD - it was almost like "pulsing" - like it wanted to tile..but then didn't.

That's the only thing i've noticed since Thursday night. Obviously since the group ticket is still open - they aren't comfortable with the results yet.

Who knows?

Do you know if your issue was being seen out of the entire area served by the Philly VHO?
It apparently was. Some people see improvements in the past couple days, some don't. Don't know how that can be.

My guess is that since it was happening in Richmond area and in VA Beach area they had an easier time figuring out what the cause was(Richmond VHO).

Do you know if your issue was being seen out of the entire area served by the Philly VHO?

Knarf-
No online ticket status - I just did the Live Chat and asked them to look it up.

They read it verbatim to me.

As I reported earlier in the thread, I had bad issues on the following channels Wednesday afternoon:

NFL-HD
ESPN-HD
Food-HD
HGTV-HD
Discovery HD Theater
HD Net

Then, later that day, noping reported here that USA was unwatchable.

kes601 - how'd you guys get your issue fixed so fast? Does Ivan Seidenberg have a vacation home in your neighborhood or something?

I don't know if it is helpful or not, but when we had issues last night w/tiling and pixelation, neither USA or NFL-HD were affected.

We watched Burn Notice (USA) recorded Thursday night and there was no issue whatsoever. I had the NFL-HD channel on for a time Friday, and noticed no problems.

I think it's funny that we're down to reporting what's NOT wrong.

Jeep - is there a way to check the group ticket on line?

Does anyone else receive automated phone calls a few days after each time they call in asking if their install happened and to rate the installer? I do.

If by chance it is a similar issue to what we had here, SciFi was unaffected here.

Well, I'm not sure if it's fixed or not. After the Eagles game (GO BIRDS) I watched a SCI-FI program I had recorded on the DVR during the game and it was fine.

Have more stuff on the DVR from last night that I will watch later today and see if it cleared up on other channels.

Since the Direct forum was on vacation yesterday, I did a live chat this morning to get a ticket update.

Apparently our "group ticket" is still open and being worked. They are analyzing all feeds being sent to Philly.

My personal ticket did not have any updates - only that it was linked to the group one. All updates and status changes will be reflected in the group - if any of you decide to call in.

Just checked all my problem channels in Newtown, Pa:
HDNET, HDNET MOVIES, ESPNHD, ESPN2HD plus Life, Hallmark and SCI-FI have all cleared up for now with 100% signal strength. It appears the equipment change in Philly fixed some but not everyone's bad signal.

Guess I leave a message for Joseph on Direct but probably no one will see it until Monday.

Hope the remaining areas clear up also.

It looks like they recycled the bad part and are now using it in Virginia.

I took a look at ESPN-HD from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM several times, but no pixelation.

Same thing in SoVA, must be a national problem now.

All quite here in Yardley. Phillies and Eagles look OK, except that the Eagles game (SD) would be much improved if the announcers would just stop their stupid yapping and shut up about everything except the game in progress.
It hasn't been evident on local things (network channels, CSN), just national channels.

Still seeing tons of pixellation and streaking. Hallmark, SCI-FI (both SD), and STARZ-HD.

No joy here

NOTE - updated my Direct post.
