| reply to jabarnut Re: Weil Mclain Boiler-Life expectancy?
Wow, we had the same issue happen to us about 3 years ago....6 months before our wedding too. (FUN!)
We had a WeilMcClain boiler that was probably about 20-25 years old. Whenever it would shut down, it would leak a little water. Well one day, it stared leaking even when the boiler was in use. The techs told us it could be fixed with a stop leak, but that's just a bandaid.
We went with a new Weil McClain "gold" and got rid of the domestic coil and went with an indirect fired tank. That combo works awesome. The new boiler really cranks out the heat from the baseboards and is much more efficient than the old one. Yeah, it's a good chunk of change, but a worthy upgrade IMHO. -- Legal ATVing in Connecticut? |
