1 edit | [Eastern Ontario] when is my area geting the splitter??
Hi, I have called tech support and asked when the node, splitter what ever you call it is getting installed and no one knows what the hell is going on. So dose any one know when this is going to happen?? I live in Trenton, Ont. near the price choppers, that's the area that needs this. I was told by some one that called me to cancel a service call, this has happened a few times also, that this area was over sold and that is why we need this. Also I have ran a line quality test at 3:00am, I'm having a bad time here browsing the net right now and here is the result. »/linequality/nil/2266323 Here are some other tests done. |

Make sure you send Marcer your modem MAC address if you didn't already - he's a Cogeco employee. |

1 edit | reply to Twisted47 I have sent him my MAC and told him that during the last five months I have been pinged from Cogeco for 72hrs not hooked up to my router to try and get this problem solved. I have been told by an employee calling me to cancel a service call, this has happened more than once, that this area has been over sold and that there waiting for a splitter to devide the area up to make the pings better and threes nothing to do in my apartment to fix this. I thank all for looking into this problem for me. |

| reply to Twisted47 Well as of right now, you are only on lite service, which will only get you 640k down and 150k up.
I have run a number of tests and at this time I am not seeing any faults. The technician who was at your home last week did forward a request to investigate, and I am following up with our maintenance department to provide you with the outcome of that investigation. |

1 edit | reply to Twisted47 I appreciate the help everyone is giving me here, if I miss something please let me know and I'll do my best to send it along. It all started about five months ago when I had noticed that I was lagging in an on line game I play. I checked out the pings and it all went down hill from there. I have a fairly new machine bought last November, Intel dual core Pentium D 940 3.2GHz/2MG of Corsair DDR2 SDRAM/NVIDIA gForce 7950 GT 512MG ram/ Realtec ALC888 Audio Controller/ Gigabite GA-965P-DQ6 rev2 mobo/ 1-250Gb 2-320Gb Hdd 7200rpm SATA2 1-80Gb Portable usb Hdd./ Acer 22"lcd Widescrean Monitor. This problem I have happens any time of day or night, I'm up at different times for being on disability so I know it has no restriction there. I have contacted support many times and at first they had found some "white noise on my half of the building only" and seamed to have fixed this but I still had bad pings with some packet loss. Well after some time passes and some more service calls go by I get a call from some employe from Cogeco to say that this area has been over sold and they are canceling the service call as there is nothing to do in my apartment to solve this matter, there waiting for a piece of equipment to come in to divide up this area to make it better for all. This is suposed to happen in the next 6 weeks so just hang in there, I call support about 2-3 weeks after to report bad pings, they send out a tech and the readings are fine up here. This happens a few times and a few of them are canceled by someone at Cogeco as we know threes no problem in my place, I agree and the call is canceled again. At one point after showing the tech's ping chart after ping chart, how can we get a ping to confirm this and he makes a call, they hook me up to have me pinged from there location for 72hrs not hooked up to my router to see if there is anything wrong. They find I'm have some problems and try some other modems in this apartment and find everyone has problems. I also run a fire wall, Seagate, and got tired of it and had uninstalled it for about 1.5 months then got a Comodo fire wall installed and had bad pings through out, so that's not it. Disconnected from my router and still bad, also every-time I had called Cogeco support I was disconnected from the router so they could get a clear picture of what was going on, so that's not it. I have basic cable and have had the tv go out for a short time but don't know if it was a tech doing something or what, every once and a while channel 3 gets fuzzy. I also have a second pc that's about 6 years old and if I hook it up it has bad pings to on and off the router firewall or not, same as the first. I live in Trenton, ON and run Win XP Pro SP2. on booth pc's and until five months ago I've had hi speed cable for about 1.25 years with no problems to speak of here. Happy gaming and surfing, no problems. |

| reply to Twisted47 I have been out for about four hours and let this 3D Traceroute program ping google.ca for about 4-5hrs and if you notice the hi ping here is 4490 at one point, not bad. The second one is of the upload to this at 97.7% Sweet |
