Poor Voicestick..... trying to make a little profit and people start jumping ship
I am curious - who do you think has a better deal even with the charges?
Just trying to see it from both perspectives... |

| I don't think anyone has a better deal..
Been with VS almost 1 month from SR and the cost has been a total of $1.00.
Can't get into my VM since my ported number became active in about 6 days from the initial order. I'm not even trying to figure out the VM. I'll wait another week or two to call their CS.
I use my home answering machine and can fax every time with my VS line.
I'm certainly getting what I pay for. |

| reply to voip_user At this point I am still satisfied with Voicestick and plan staying with them. I wish hoever I could get a local number, even though the one I have now is still a local call to those calling me from the town I'm in. -- Embarq DSL 1500/586 | Voicestick | Skype |

Depending on adapter you can change dialplan to have 00 dial this. |

| reply to SteveinNC Better and more reliable deals:
1)gizmoproject + grandcentral; 2)callcentric; 3) voicepulse $14.95 plan 4) voicebroad $9.95 plan 5) vonage $14.95.
All of above are more reliable and cheap. And four of them have caller ID with NAME. None of them has less than 5 rings to voicemail. |

Perhaps their mail service started charging for incoming without notice and they didn't have enough on deposit. |

| I have had similar email failure to them. However, yesterday the following notice was posted to the account page ;-(
BILLING CHANGE - We are now charging the extremely low rate of $0.0118 per minute for inbound Calls. To avoid service interruption: Customers without Unlimited Calling Plans must have prepaid funds available to cover the cost of these calls
It's not bad unless your account is set up for folks that don't have internet access and have to rely on the i2bridge to call out... all charges are automatically doubled then. Almost eliminates their advantage over OneSuite. |

| reply to voip_user The problem with voicestick is that there customer service is awful.
They have downtimes they don't explain. Rate changes they do without informing the customer. Hardware settings that change without informing the customer till after the changes are done.
They need to hire some people as full time customer service or they need to close up shop. |

Where did you get the customersupport@support.i2telecom.com address? Usually, domain addresses with "support" instead of "www" bring up a webpage. Have you tried support@voicestick.com or support@i2telecom.com or customersupport@voicestick.com or customersupport@i2telecom.com? [I'm just guessing.]
The VS website has a direct email link for customer support that has worked for me in the past. |

Where did you get the customersupport@support.i2telecom.com address? ... I called after reading this thread and the VoiceStick IVR offered that email address. I just checked and it still does. Their MX record lists this address and their i2telecom.com, both without a backup server. I just tried dnsstuff.com and got a "no response" for the above and "Got an unknown RCPT TO response: 551 user does not exist" to CS. & S. @i2telecom.com.
Voicestick has performed well for me. This timing is bad because I just started using them as a main number and I have better active options than using their new plan for my expected volume. They have the choice of what to charge and I the choice to use another provider. I rate every vendor on several issues. I would expect a simple notice prior to the change and another post here shows they are probably in violation of their own terms. I'm not fighting this, just revising my opinion of them.
After SunRockets whatever, I had decided to use VS for around a third of my outgoing, leave a $10 minimum and deposit at least $5 per month. I thought providers received revenue from incoming calls. If their incoming rate was about half, I probable would stick with my plan. Now I will just re-direct much of my inbound and watch. I do hope they are successful and adjust this plan or offer a reasonable unlimited inbound. They appear to be a small operation so I will cut some slack. |

In my case I used the on-line system to query customer support. The address returned is what VoiceStick put in! |

| reply to voip_user WoW, I am bummed to read this, and I just checked my account and am being charged for incoming. I signed up with VS after reading much on this forum, finding out my SR was about to go out. Which luckily I was at the end of my 2nd year with SR. So I didn't lose anytime with them and actually got 10 days free service at the end since my account was supposed to expire 7/25...But back to VS and their shady middle of the night rate change, what a shame. I was just telling a friend about how cool it was they had free incoming. Now after my SR number was finally ported to VS, they start charging for incoming with NO NOTICE. Even though its a fair price I will just let my account run out, cause who knows whats next... Unless their customer service improves and they offer some kind of new perk, I don't see them lasting long since a lot of people will jump ship. |

3 edits | reply to voip_user If I do a reply to a support email I received from them I do get customersupport@support.i2telecom.com .
While I am not happy about them charging for incoming calls my biggest gripes with relation to the implementation are: 1. Double charges for i2bridge calls. 2. Incoming call rate charged for calls that go to voicemail. So even if you don't answer amd the call is redirected to your voicemail, you are still be charged for that caller leaving u a message. |

I just noticed their limited plan which I think was $9.95/mo is no longer on VoiceStick web page.
I like VoiceStick and would like to continue to use them. I have not yet made changes and it looks like my current VoiceStick usage would bill out at over $20/month. Yesterdays incoming would bill out at $45/mo. These same calls moved to other current plans would cost less than $5/mo. I can shift outbound on the fly but once I change incoming, there is no reason to return. If VoiceStick wants to stay in the running for higher use accounts they need to act fast. |
