If I were you, I'd tell your uncle to back everything up, the HD *could* be getting ready to die.

What OS? I remember reading something about HD thrashing happening on NEW Vista systems, but if he doesn't use Vista, that wouldn't apply.

canada		 Yeah he's going to be backing everything up(whatever is important, today it didnt sound like anything really was) and then he's brining it over here for my dad/me to reformat it. That will see if any problems are resolved.
