Blizzard sends out its World of Waracft patches via BitTorrent. Comcast now blocks upload BitTorrents. There are 6 million WoW subscribers. Comcast is the largest broadband provider in the US so statistically there are more WoW players on Comcast then on other ISPs. So basically Comcast has killed WoW since when the next patch day comes there will be millions less seeders than previously.
Yes, you can download patches from 3rd party web sites, but they aren't designed to handle 6 million downloads in a 24 hour period.
So good just Comcast, in one fell swoop you will manage to do what many software companies have been trying to do for years. --

Blizzard could find other distribution channels if needed. |
