Levi & Suozzi are fools.
Do either of them have a clue?
E-Path must have done a hellva sales presentation to these two rubes in order to get this contract (that or offered them very generous kickbacks).
Excuse me but what ever happened to the public bidding on this project??

E-Path is a big question mark. Their website is weak..
The last news items posted on it are 2 from September 2006?? There is nothing about this deal posted on it.
As far as experience in deploying a Wi-Fi network all I read in the muniwireless.com article is that COO Martin mentioned e-Path has a 16-square-mile project under way in Delray Beach, Florida and supposedly the company is in the running for a project in Trenton NJ, but there's no mention on their website of any of their projects or customers???

As much as I'd love to see Long Island with a public Wi-Fi network I'm wondering if this pig will even fly.
Unfortunately, the average disposable (discressionary) income on Long Island and footprint of both FIOS and Optimum Online don't exactly make this a front burner issue. Their efforts might be better served in lowering the cost of living on Long Island vs free wifi..

Just because Long Island has more fiber optic bandwidth available per person than other parts of the country is outweighed by the rampant price inflation & cost of living increases coupled with virtually stagnant wage increases (aka stagflation), so Long Island won't be any more competitive if there were wifi here..

Is it a substitute for developing youth programs or other vastly underfunded social programs like HEALTHCARE? Hmm... I'll get back to you on that one.
