Once again we seem to pay more than everyone else. I'm fuming but, I know the same thing Verizon knows. I'm pretty sure taking to some CSR aint gonna do anything so I can take it or leave it. Time to re-examine my needs and check out other options. <br><br>Funny thing was, looking at the broader market and falling prices, I actually was hoping for a price decrease or performance increase. My first guess is there isn't much competetion, so Verizon decided to see what 'the market will bare', but still...26% increase?!!!]]></description>

If it were only 10% like some of the posts indicate here it wouldn't be that bad. But 26%? Totally uncalled for.<br><br>I'm calling the FIOS reps now to see what they can do. If they don't cooperate I'll have to reconsider cable again.<br><br>Sad thing is Verizon came in our town like gangbusters with the deals and now that they are making a presence they are starting to stick the screws to the customers. Not wise, in my opinion. Especially when they do it to those early adopters, like myself, who signed up blind without really knowing what they had to offer. We get screwed while the new signups get all the breaks. Poor marketing.]]></description>

If Verizon were to violate my 1 year contract like that, I would immediately cancel and return to Cablevision... who will pay for my early termination fee that Verizon will assess. At that time, they offered the 30/5 for the whopping 199/mo., but that was too expensive for me.  Just a few months later, they mysteriously dropped the price of the 30/5 service to $55 a month and I jumped on it (probably to compete with OOL).  I think they are making a mistake raising the price already. I'm on a contract and still received the letter so it appears that all contract customers will be charged for the increase come october.<br><br>Yet i can still sign up today for the service via the web site for a years contract at 54.95.... the month to month pricing is still 59.95.<br><br>And when i got hooked for tv i ended up renewing my contract since i attempted to go to dhcp...they charged be 20$ fee which implies at least to me that we renegotiated the contract at that time. (course this months bill didnt even include tv charges so we are paying for it anyways in hopes that next months bill may inf act actually arrive correct finally..)<br><br>I find this a bit irritating....i do so hope verizon doesnt become the land of ever increasing prices like its competition....]]></description>

I also received the letter, but my one year contract is not up until the end of October.<br><br>Those are usually arbitrary numbers and have nothing to do with the increased costs of delivering service, better performance or more robust features. Just a nice round number to gouge the customer with that they would not be able to support if we could force them to do so.<br><br>We were all wondering what would happen with increases once they sunk their teeth in..
