3 T-Mobile

ATT may talk the talk, but T-Mobile walks the walk.

Yeah, but where are they walking? And why won't they tell us where they're going?

I guess I lucked out. I always grumble about T-Mobile coverage when I (oh so rarely) leave this area, but aside from that I've got no complaints. Never had any billing issues, the price is right and the few times I've called I got very pleasant people who had answers to my questions.

If only VZW was GSM and a roaming partner with T...

Yeah GSM is the major thing that keeps me with T-Mobile (and why I keep an eye on ATT). Being able to buy unlocked phones online and stay up to date with the newest euro phones is a great benefit of sticking with GSM.

I've had ATT, Sprint, and T-Mobile and i've never been happier than I am with T-mobile.

Not true in Parker, CO. T-Mobile is the sux0rz in CO. I have 2 friends that have t-mobile, and they regret it. They drop calls all the time, can't get incoming calls, and sometimes texts take upto 9 hours to get from t-mobile to at&t. I can send them one and it takes almost no time. I can send one to sprint and verizon and there is no issue, and receive just fine. Out at my parents house VZ and AT&T are the only ones, T-Mobile doesn't work at all, same w/ sprint. t-mobile might work elsewhere, but in CO, AT&T is the best. VZ has deadspots in DOWNTOWN DENVER!! I have yet to hit a dead spot on at&t inside a major area. Even in some areas that should not have coverage AT&T works. My work phone is a sprint, and I wish it worked half as reliable as my AT&T phone. VZ is just a joke in some areas out here....

I've been on AT&T Wireless since GSM rolled out in Los Angeles with mMode (2003/2002?), and their network was pathetic when launched. Cingular moved their customers to AT&T Wireless network in CA/NV, which didn't help, and pushed excessive use of a bad implementation of the AMR-half rate codec.

Coverage in So-Cal: AT&T beats T-Mobile
Quality in So-Cal: T-Mobile beats AT&T (except 3G)

AT&T quality is good if you have a Motorola and disable the AMR-half rate codec.

Also, 3G quality is good, however, the network bounces like Windows 98 PC.

General complaints on AT&T:
1. 3G bouncing
2. Audio garbles on GSM

T-Mobile
T-Mobile - coverage is too weak to be used inside my house.

Agreed, T-Mobile sucks in CO. But ATT sucks in CO also (I should say in the mountains). In CO I look more at if it is GSM or CDMA and GSM sucks in the mountains (at least out of the I-70 corridor but every network works good there).

Everyone sucks in Colorado - Ive had AT&T, T-Mobile, Qwest and Sprint and they all have the same problems. AT&T is only good in Denver area. As for the text problems, I'd bet that's AT&T's issue... I have no problem getting T-Mobile texts fairly "instantly".

Why do you think all companies give you a trial usage period. If you don't like the service then cancel and get somebody else. It all boils down to what the network is like in the area nad also the investment you are willing to make on a good mobile phone. If you get a cheap phone guess what your service will be crappy. I have at&t now since it was Bellsouth Mobility and never had any issues. I have the Blackjack and had it since December. I always change phone at least once a month and this one seems to be the one to stay.
