Latency is anywhere from 100ms-250ms depending on signal and obstacles and whatnot.

Sprint does not roam on Verizon's EVDO network nor does Verizon roam onto Sprint's EVDO Network.

Sprint and Alltel do have a COMPLETE EVDO roaming roaming agreement which means they can both roam onto each other's highspeed networks for free. So if you don't get sprint EVDO you can roam onto Alltel's EVDO for free and vice versa. Alltel has more rural EVDO coverage areas.

Verizon has 0 EVDO roaming agreements so Sprint is better because them combined with alltel have way more EVDO coverage than Verizon does.

I would try Sprint first and if you get nothing with them, then try Verizon as the last option. Let me know
