So what is the latency? (How many Ms?) Is it ok for online gaming like Quake, etc....

Is it free to roam on the Verizon network?

Can you roam on Verizon network 24/7?
I covered this over at EVDOForums (yup, I'm the same Fox McCloud :P)

basically, if you're in a good location, you'll probably have around 100 ms to Google.com....and 140-200ms in a game....it's not the greatest latency, but still, overall, better than dial-up or satellite.

No you can't roam on Verizon's EVDO network; only their 1xRTT network which has a max speed of 144k and latency (to Google) around 300-350 ms (OUCH! Not as bad as satellite, but useless for online gaming).

the only EVDO network you can roam on is Alltel's EVDO network; and most of it is EVDO Revision 0.

Oh yeah, you answered me on the other forums, lol

Thanks for all the stuff. So if I'm like four miles away from the orang on the map can I get it?
