Had been a one-way cable modem user since February and went two-way last Friday. My provider is RCN. Initial speed tests were sloooooow last week, but this week things are rocking and rolling along. |

everyone always wants to know what is and where is bayonne, so here are the facts:
Bayonne, a small peninsula 3 miles long by one mile wide, surrounded by water on 3 sides. (on east-hudson river, south-kill van kull, west-newark bay.) new york city within site to the east, and north east. staten island to the south. newark/ newark airport to the west.
sister city is Bayonne, France. i 'believe' it means 'on the bay' DUH,,,,,,,,,

 | reply to moon willow About 25 years or so ago, I built tennis courts while on summer break from college. We used to go somewhere in Bayonne to pick up products made by Chevron. I think it was Chevron. All I can remember is that it was tough navigating the streets with our truck to pick up the materials. |
|
 | exxon? or texaco? both of which are gone by the way.
there are tennis courts in bayonne park on kennedy boulevard, as well as on first street on the water.
you think it was tough then, there's even more traffic/cars now. -- it's snowing here!!!--->http://njbay.tripod.com |

I was born in and grew up in Bayonne! I live in northern Virginia now. In Bayonne I lived on 57th St., then Pavonia Court (between 11th and 12th streets off of Avenue A), and finally right on Avenue A on 8th St. There was a year in Old Bridge as an infant in there somewhere, too.
Went to OLSS grammar school and Marist High School. I sorta never came back after I went away to college and wound up settling in D.C. (went to grad school there). My parents now live in Spring Lake Heights. Was back in Bayonne over Thanksgiving weekend visiting my grandmother.

Don't forget that it's Exit 14A on the turnpike, too.

Where I think the bayonet was invented, too.

You can get OOL in Bayonne???!!!??? I'M MOVING BACK!!!
Brian
P.S.: Here's a story by a Bayonne, NJ resident who took a trip to the sister city in France:
