[WTB] Thermalright ALX-800 Heat Sink Fan Clips

First post in this particular forum so if I make a mistake, go easy on me.

I came across a Thermalright ALX-800 (for Socket A) and bought it without realizing it requires a pair of clips to hold the fan on. I failed to do my homework. Not a big deal as I got it relatively cheap, but it is a nice heat sink and would really help with a Socket A machine I just put together that currently runs both too warm and way too loud.

So, if anyone has a set of these fan clips for this specific model heat sink, I'm a willing buyer. I'd consider buying an entire ALX-800 if someone had one for sale that included the clips in good condition.

Thanks.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I spoke with Thermalright Support first and they no longer have the appropriate clips for this model.

Re: [WTB] Thermalright ALX-800 Heat Sink Fan Clips

try bestbyteinc.com out of Katy, Texas. At one time they had a stock of Socket A wire clips to hold the fans on SI-97 heatsinks. And they had very reasonable shipping charges.

The SI-97 wire clips might or might not work on your HS. I'm not familiar with it.

edit: If you don't find your clips on the website, try calling them on the telephone. A real person answered and was most helpful when I was looking for SI-97 parts.

Prior to finding wire clips for a used SI-97, I used some long twist ties from a box of plastic leaf bags. They were only a little more trouble and worked well.

Do you need a socket A processor to go with that cooler?

Thanks for the excellent suggestion - I may have found what I need.

I've bought stuff from them in the past, and they always have an odd assortment, good pricing, and cheap shipping.

I found Thermalright 80mm fan clips listed on their site. The folks there believe they will work on the ALX800, or can be modified to work so I ordered a pair.

*chuckle*

No, I already have the CPU, but thanks.

Mods, feel free to lock this up. Thank you.
