Before it was a %, like between 6-12%... and the new rates they proposed are a flat rate per play... for many broadcasters, this is over 5,000% of what they were paying before... and much more money than they actually make!
DI.fm for example, asks us to imagine a situation that for every 1$ they take in, before any expenses, they owe 5$.
"Discounted"? "Couple of years"? "Small internet radio broadcasters" only? F#ck you. That "discounted rate" is a larger percentage than the smaller stations were paying before. How the hell is that discounted?
How do they expect them to pay out more than they make? Filthy, greedy music industry... |
