4 edits | This is about control... The RIAA wants DRM on all Internet Radio, and is holding the industry hostage with the obscene fees they lobbied (read: BRIBERS) from the Copyright Tribunal.
The problem is this....their greed will force the American stations like Radio Paradise to go out of business-and hand the Internet radio industry over to the Europeans and Canadians ON A PLATINUM PLATTER! In other words, there will BE no American Interent radio stations-all the stations will be from offshore.
....and another fledgling American industry will be run into the ground thanks to greed...
Of course, we won't mention that most members of the RIAA are now allowing DRM free copies of their music to be sold. Even WalMart is getting into the act.
