SE greed..

I still want to know how this will affect the small, non-profit / hobby webcaster.. since we don't have an 'income' stream or paid listeners, what do we use to (how do we) pay?

this monster greed we've been seeing lately web-wide is total BS and needs to go. NOW!

Basically if you are a "hobby" webcaster you are treated the same as a small commercial webcaster. In essence you are dead meat unless you have thousands of dollars to put into your "hobby". I just shut down my station that focused on independent music. I had about a half dozen volunteers who recorded show. We had no advertising, and did pay BMI & ASCAP royalties, but at the end of the day the RIAA game would bankrupt us. If I could have paid a flat fee of a few hundred dollars a year (as was the case with BMI & ASCAP) I would, however there are no provisions for this.
