Yes because CDV is launched (has been) and there is NO need to carry 2 completely different products. The amount of equipment involved in "old Digital Phone" is astounding. All companies that had a telphony CDP type product WILL be dropping it eventually, in favor of A VOIP like technology.

Comcast has been discontinuing CDP for some time now.
There is nothing underhanded going on.

*I* switched from CDP(14? years service - since AT&T Digital) to CDV.
It was painless and took all of 20 minutes.
