this sucks

I can't support my favorite linux distro anymore by seeding the ISO.

I leave it running all day and have my max upload speed set to a mere 40KB/s. All I get are sporadic bursts as Comcast is resetting all the connections with forged packets.

I guess the message they are sending is, "We don't care if you download, only if you upload."

I cannot even upload larger media files to my website anymore as even that ftp connection is reset repeatedly. I tested this with some friends' ftp servers and the same thing occurs. But as expected it works fine (just slower oddly) uploading to my Comcast web space via ftp. I am left having to use YouTube.

I don't know about your personal circumstances, but if the limiting is causing you financial hardships (like if you have to upload video or large PDF's for work or something), you may want to consider getting together with some of your neighbors and going in on a T1, frac T1, ether, or whatever other SLA'ed type of circuit might be available in your area. Maybe you could work out an arrangement to allow them full access to the downstream bandwidth and reserve 3/4 of the upstream bandwidth for yourself? One of my friends just got 4 Mbps symmetric ether for less than $400 per month, so hopefully something like that might be available to you.

Either way, good luck!
