This may be a site of technically savvy users, but most of the users on this site wouldn't know how to interpret the output from Wireshark.

Prove it...
Save the Internet Time (NTP) service, use the pool.

You can include me in that bunch I suppose. :P The link over at TorrentFreaks showed that the sequence numbers on the RST packets where incorrect but I've no idea how to determine that.

The first is correct, the second one is the oddball, but irrelevant since the first one already nuked the connection.

Are you affected by Comcast's RST forging? How to test it! -or- Read my original report.

Ahh I think I get it now. When I receive a multitude of RST packets from one IP one after the other, that most likely is the Sandvine at work?

Just like they first didn't admit they cap, they are not going to admit they throttle. Throttling opens the door to lawsuits cause people aren't getting what they pay for. Why should people pay for 10meg service if they are being throttled to 1meg or less?

Maybe. If they have a Seq=0, it's probably not Sandvine. Also, if there is any evidence that the connection is falling apart, I find it hard to be conclusive that it is Sandvine.

The case in that example, where the parties just exchanged BitFields and one made a request, is a classic case of RST interference. You'll see that happen over and over again, right at the same place in the "conversation" with a large number of your peers.
