Re: [general] WildBlue closing down 3 markets! Beam Suspension Notice - UPDATED Per our email on August 21st in regards to suspensions in beams 131, 132 and 133, we have experienced an unprecedented amount of orders in our system in anticipation of the suspension. Because of the extraordinary amount of demand in these areas, and the accelerated number of orders being placed to fulfill outstanding commitments, we will not be able to take any new orders in these three beams after 6PM MST MONDAY AUGUST 27th. Pending customers will still be able to be provisioned. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause by moving this date up by four days. WildBlues goal is to maintain the high quality of service that our customers have come to expect, and we have prioritized this part of the country for the next software and hardware upgrades. We will notify you in advance of any additional capacity as it becomes available. If you have any questions regarding the suspensions, please contact your local DSI branch representative at 1-800-888-8876. Thank you, Brad Behmer Director of Sales -- Anik F2 | WildBlue Pro Pak | Beam 37 | Laredo NOC | Since Nov 2005 |

Lol exactly. The high quality of service went out the window last November. I guess this high quality service he is speaking of is the system not being completely down every once in a while lol. |

 | reply to mandysdad I understand that WildBlue has overloaded their beams and is shutting down. This is a good and bad thing for them. Good because they are selling, but bad because they can't keep up with the demand; bandwidth or equipment??? I think they oversold to quickly and had a bad link budget. Their network design was flawed from the beginning and unable to provide good quality of service to a large number of customers.
The equipment issue is another nightmare with Wildblue! Maybe its because Raven is the manufacturer for both HughesNet and WildBlue and cannot make enough for both? Or are the modems and trias not being made fast enough?
I have several customers that have paid and waiting for equipment. I am at the verge of switching all of them over to HughesNet! Wildblue is digging a deep hole for themselves. |
