Figuring I was getting the full 15mbps on the basic tier. Even with your Linksys router you should be able to get boost speeds. I'd say fare would be mid 20's mbps. Also try disabling any firewalls running on your PC to see if that might be causing the problem for you.]]></description>

It will saturate your connection with most servers. You will download files faster with boost, IF the server your getting it from supports speeds that high, or if you use DAP as i suggested.]]></description>

Why dont you take a speedtest and show us those results? also, what kind of modem do you have?]]></description>

That would be (at OOL's max speed of about 38Mbps) compressing the 131MB file to 46.4MB. That's a compression of 35.4% of an already compressed file. It's physically and technically impossible to get 13MB/sec over the cable modem. <br><br>As already pointed out in another thread, the max speed a single Boost modem cant get is around 40Mbps. This is due to network limits of DOCSIS 2.0. Not even to mention the limit of Ethernet (10/100) which is around 12MB/sec.]]></description>

I tried diferrent download tests, including WinXP SP2, Usenetserver with 20 connections to diferrent servers, and combinations.  Anyway it was done, either one down or combination of downloads my max was 29.5.  So my modem is no longer capped but somewhere along the line in OOL's network, the cap does exist.  Hopefully that will change soon too.<br><br>BTW, for the past year, I never got above 26mbit for a single moment. Mine will be at 25 to 32 mb and then out of no where it drops to 15 to 17 mb and sits there for a while and goes right back up to speed when it feels like it. Other people in my town have the same issue so i know its not just me.  I didn't really have issues till early this year and i had Boost before it was even advertised.
