[Services] New August 1st Bundles...

So all this talk lately on the forum that i inadvertently started, I became curious as to what all AT&T-SE offers. Thanks to a great rep (or 12 after calling in a few different times) and a few rude ones who didn't offer any help, the helping few went over all the options.

I got a great understanding of what AT&T new plans are offered in the region. Along with standard bundles on the website, these bundles are available region wide. I made the lil spreadsheet to make things easier.

The link is to a larger picture.

Thank you, that chart helps out a lot though it may have to be tweaked a little once you get more feedback from members here and if anyone here from AT&T Southeast decides to chime in and clarify things a bit.

I have what I call "The BellSouth Everything and the Kitchen Sink Plan" and I could stand to save a few dollars. There is one nice thing about having everything that AT&T Southeast/BellSouth offers, you will never get a telemarketing call from them asking if you want to upgrade your plan because there is nothing left to sell you, and that might be worth the extra money I spend every month.

I had a friend ask me once "Man, does BellSouth call you all the time trying to sell you something or get you to upgrade, because they call me all the time and bug me to death." and I said "No, they never call me, but I have got a secret." and I didn't say anything else, then he looked at me and said "OK, what is your secret?" and I said "It's really simple just buy everything they have and they will never call you again because it would be a waste of their time." I don't think he liked that answer.

I looked around for information on BUN66 and I found this site »cpr.bellsouth.com/ and it appears like BUN65 and BUN66 is only available to customers in Florida.

It appeared to me that the $50 2-Pack, Unlimited LD and DSL 1.5 (BUN 65)(»cpr.bellsouth.com/pdf/fl/filings···-134.pdf) was only available to customers in Florida that they stole from competitors (Competitive Acquisition Customers)

It also appeared that the $60 2-Pack, Unlimited LD and DSL 1.5 (BUN 66) (»cpr.bellsouth.com/pdf/fl/filings···-135.pdf) was only available to customers in Florida that were contemplating leaving for a competitor (Saves and Vulnerable Customers).

So you called them up and they said that BUN66 is available to all AT&T Southeast/BellSouth customers?

I have the Complete Choice Plan(Local Calling) @ $34.50 with the optional Voice Mail Residential Premium Mailbox @ $4.95, and the Unlimited Plan(Long Distance) @ $25.49, and FastAccess DSL Xtreme 6.0 which I still pay $46.95 for because calling them up and changing it is not worth $4.00 on the off chance that they will screw it up and I will came home to find a Payphone on my front porch and have dial-up internet. I also have three Cingular cell-phones on a family talk plan and DirecTV, and I would like to combine all of that together in one bundle, but I heard about some of these new bundles and I wanted to wait and do it all with one call and see if I could save some money at the same time.

If anyone at AT&T Southeast/Bellsouth is reading this would it be to much to ask, from a customer that spends several hundred dollars a month with you, for a little bit extra FastAccess loving, like say change my MaxSync to 8128/896 and make my Radius server profile go away so I won't be throttled to 6500/437, because I would like to get me some 7100/768 throughput.

Also I would never be interested in getting tv from you, but I would pay $95.00 to $120.00 for some ADSL2+M 24Mbps/3.5Mbps with multi-static IP and letting me have a small game server and a small non-commercial personal web-server.

I called and gave information for a few different states; I live in LA. Some states such as MS and KY do not require tariffs to be filed on bundle packages, this happens due to deregulation that has taken place over the past several years.

BST likes to say it gives them a more competitive chance to introduce pricing to the market when competitors come out with something cheaper. Yet NC and TN CompleteChoice and PreferredPack customers saw the first rate increases of the merger.

The 7 or so good reps I got confirmed these are region-wide.

i.e. I gave an Address in Nashville, TN and was able to get BUN66.

i.e. My home address in LA, I can get BUN65 if I change from BUN97 to add the voice products.

It took a lil' squeezing, their jobs are to sell CC, ISW, EMP, BSVM, the whole works, but after demanding better pricing and saying I know there is something cheaper you can get to the bottom of things.

As an example of state that does require tariffed filing for LD Plans. BSLD Inc d/b/a AT&T LD Svc Tariffs in Alabama as of Aug 16th, the AT&T Triple Choice, Nationwide Value, and Nationwide Savings plans are listed with a description of the bundles necessary. Under pages 109.1~3 & also For NC : Under pages 104.1~3

what is the different between bundle 65 and 66? does bundle 65 have no unlimited long distance and bundle 66 offer unlimited long distance? also i see they have bundle 64. is 64 for local phone line plus dsl only? i'm paying around $75 a month just for local phone line with call waiting and dsl extreme 6.0. if bundle 64 offer is $40 plus $10 extra for extreme 6.0 then that would be $50 a month and probably around another $10 for tax and other fee which equal only $60 a month so i would save $15 a month on my bill right?

@bellsouth.net

ok i just read Airwolf7 post of the pdf file. it seem the different between bundle 65 and 66 is that 65 required the customer to get either dtv or cingular wireless cell phone plan with it.

Thanks for the spreadsheet bluepoint, I'm in MS and I have the Triple Choice package and after looking at your spreadsheet I'm a bit confused......

The only discounts I get are $10 off my DTV bill and $5 (Triple Choice Credit) off my BS/AT&T bill. I'm being charged $9.99 for what they told me was the Nickel Plan but is listed on my bill as being the "Talk 200 Value Plan", the agents I talked to said I had to have one of their LD plans to qualify for Triple Choice.....

My BS/AT&T bill by itself is $90.72, so IMHO something isn't adding up right.....

Is the BUN63-Triple Choice Unlimited package different from the regular TC package they advertise on their site and on TV sometimes?

Do you think having an older DTV package would prevent me from getting the full discounts the Triple Choice package is supposed to provide?

There are 2 grandfathered Triple Choice plans....

The Original Triple Choice from Aug 1st 2006 to Febuary 2007 was Preferred Pack Plan (in MS $32.00 - $5 Credit).
Talk 200 Special Value (in MS $5.05).
DSL Ultra ($32.95)
DTV Choice (Until Feb of this year $44.95)

The plan was modified in Feb of 2007:
Preferred Pack ($32.00 - $5)
Triple Choice Nickel ($.01)
DSL Ultra ($32.95)
DTV Choice ($49.99 - $10 Credit)

Now the With all of the Triple Choice Plans you can modify the Local Class of Service to Complete Choice for $5 or Unlimited LD for $24.98 in MS. With the new Febuary '07 package you can get Talk 200 value for $9.99 instead of Triple Choice Nickel for $.01.

If you are on one of the older or the newest Triple Choice plans you AT&T Services should add up to be $59.96 + Taxes and fees... roughly $70~$75... If you have a higher DSL (Xtreme or Xtreme 6.0), a Higher class of Service (Complete Choice), or Higher LD Plan (in your case Talk 200 LD) you must add the extra cost accordingly.

-----------
As for the Triple Choice Unlimted Plan it was introduced this year on Aug 1st, if you were a new Triple Choice subscriber then you would prolly be offered it first in MS this is how it works...

Perfered Pack $32 -$5 Credit ($27)
Triple Choice Unlimited LD ($15.01)
DSL Ultra $32.95 - $15 Credit ($17.95)
DTV Choice $49.99 - $10 Credit ($39.99)
Total: $99.95

As you see the AT&T service work out to be $59.96 + taxes/fees.

I currently have DSL Ultra and basic phone service. So now I'm able to drop the basic phone service and just pay for the DSL?
And if I'm reading correctly, it will be DSL Ultra price + a $5 fee each month. Is that it?

I'd appreciate if someone can clear this up for me, and what I should ask for when I call to make this change.

Thanks again.

If you want just Stand Alone DSL service call and ask for BUN 97. Now some reps are saying you need Cellular (Wireless) this is not true if they insist tell them to look over tier bundle matrix or online help tools.

BUN97 gets you what ever DSL you want + $5 for an acess line. If you keep your DSL Ultra this is what your bill would look like.

Stand Alone Fast Access Line $15
Credit for Stand ALone DSL -$10

DSL Ultra $32.95

Total $37.95

I really appreciate the posting of the chart! After some difficulties, it helped me save quite a bit of change off my already-high BS/at&t bill.

My current service is CompleteChoice, Unlimited LD, Xtreme 3.0, and Cingular/at&t 450. Even including the bundle discount, my bill was just over $140 with taxes and fees. I subtracted out the taxes and fees ($19.33/month) and figured even with the $5.00 additional charge for 3.0 I should save approximately $20/month.

I called BS/at&t and asked for Bundle 63. The rep told me she would be happy to "discuss" this bundle with me, but right off she "knew" I was "already getting the best deal" since I was "grandfathered". She said my current services came to $117/month (plus taxes/fess) and the new bundle would cost - $117/month! I asked how that was so and was told that I "forgot to add the fees". She stated that she would make a note of my call, should I decided to press ahead (my term) with the change.

I called a short while later, speaking with a very helpful young lady. She knew exactly what bundle I was talking about, said I was not nuts in thinking that I could save some money, and proceeded to tell me that Bundle 63 now includes Xtreme 3.0 for no additional charge (as well as saving me $3.84/month on Privacy Director)! The total, including fees and estimated taxes - $115.00 a month.

Moral of this post - if you think a price is wrong, wait a few minutes and call again. Sure, I gave up a few Preferred features I never used, but even if I had used them, $25/month savings eases a lot of pain.

i just got off the phone with bellsouth, they give me bundle65 but it is different from what the op chart showed. i got unlimited local, call waiting, caller id and extreme 6.0 for $50 a month. a really good deal for me since i dont need unlimited long distance so i don't have to pay the extra $10 a month for it but it seem weird because it is so different from what the op listed.

I'm afraid I just don't understand what BUN64 is. I take it that its some form of DSL + local Pots. Don't know what 1FR means.

What is the real difference in total price between BUN64 and BUN67?

Given that I use minimal voice and only local, is there some really cheap VOIP, so that VOIP + BUN67 is cheaper than BUN64?

Bundle 64 is a local POTS line (Dial tone only no features aka 1FR) & DSL Ultra for $40 + Taxes/fees [you can get Xtreme 3.0 or Xtreme 6.0 DSL for +$5/+10 respectively]

Bundle 97 is Stand Alone DSL (No Local Phone Service; Just DSL) You choose your DSL Speed (Ultra/Xtreme 3.0/Xtreme 6.0) & you pay for said speed + $5 for the Dry Line [$37.95/$42.95/$47.95; no taxes as these are internet Services] Most people who choose BUN97 go with VoIP or Cell-only voice usage.
