Let me guess, you are a ECU student? If so I have heard from several ECU students that SUddenlink is offering the faster speeds to them but not us the loyal year end and year out customer. I called to speak with a Supervisor, needless to say the phone techs say he is unavailable, so I emailed him and have gotten no reply. This really pisses me off and should PISS other customers that have been waiting on speed increases forever.
Not picking on you dude, just think its unfair to the folks that have been waiting patiently since way back for faster speeds. I have heard that ECU students are getting 10/768 on the Upper Tier and the Preferred went from 4000 to 8000Meg down. ARGHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... Please tell us this isn't true. V |
|
 | reply to kUnFuSeD Okay kUnFuSeD, Give us more info. Where are you located? Are you in fact an ECU student? And I take it you are paying for the upper tier?
Let us know, please. |
|
 | reply to kUnFuSeD I am at work on Embarq,I have suddenlink at home, but we have a couple of ecu students here that told me that there speed had gone up. What the heck? If this is true, I hope we can get someone from Suddenlink to step up to the plate and tell us this is true. Truly Utter BULLSH$T.. Lurker |
|
 | reply to kUnFuSeD I have a tech coming in the next 2 hours, I'll make sure to ask him about it....
I don't think even suddenlink would be dumb enough to only offer speed upgrades to ECU students, given that we pay the same money. But if so, I hope they offer it to staff too..... |

Were you using the flash tests? I've had them report as high as 29mbit in the past. Will reboot my modem, and see if the speed is any different, just for the heck of it. -- Give me bandwidth or give me death! |

Same ol same ol. |
|
 | reply to kUnFuSeD It could just be a slow roll out. I believe that has happened before with Cox. |
|
 | reply to kUnFuSeD Well, the tech came out, I had to problems at the time, but he swapped my modem and installed a new jack and sure enough, as soon as he left, my speed dropped back into the crapper.
I will say, that when this happens, my SNR drops below 30 and rapidly changes.

But as far as the upgrades are concerned, they are supposed to be for everyone, and should be coming "soon". 1meg goes to 4meg, 4meg goes to 8meg, and 5meg goes to 10meg is what he said. -- Technology Support Analyst @ East Carolina University Go Pirates!

 | reply to kUnFuSeD I am in greenville and no I am not an ecu student. Just an average joe. Live off of landmark st. Don't no what to tell you other folks just noticed it was faster. |
|
 | reply to kUnFuSeD And to answer the question on which test I used there were 3. I used speakeasy, speedtest.net and toast.net. Got the same result on all 3. Also if it matters I have suddenlink phone and using the mat as my modem and phone in one unit. |
|
 | sorry meant mta not mat. And yes it is a slow roll out. Just spoke with a tech in the area. |
|
 | Not to single you out kUnFuSed, but you do live off Landmark, which is prodomently college area.
If the roll outs are starting there, Suddenlink better start thinking up some pretty good excuses.
I'll be calling tomorrow, to hear them. |

1 edit | This really pisses me off.

I am on the other side of town. And to answer everyones question this will be in effect for everyone on sept 1st. So just sit tight guys. |

| I just spoke with a CSR and she said that they were offering the 9mbs, as a promotion to college students.
She said that after the promotion was up (after 10 months), the speeds and prices were going to revert to what they are today. (I questioned that as well)
She also said that there was no way for them to verify the "Student" status.
I couldn't get in on it b/c I was already under another promotion. |
