I would also assume they would charge you to upgrade.
I'm only like a month or so into my nis 2007 and after looking at the changes I think I just wait for my sub to run out and renew with the newest version at the time, that or norton 360. I'm assuming that 360 is just always the newest version of norton products that way it's just 360 and 360 version 2007 or 360 2008. Anyway if you check what's new in 2008doesn't seem like there are any earth shattering new changes as compared to 2007 so I think I'll stick with 007 for now.
