Follow the money, I say, and ask for a refund. Put the FCC on trial! It's time. -- FWD#537129 |

The 1996 Telecom Act added a component to the USF to pay for broadband to schools and libraries; that's it. Nothing for rural broadband. |

the books will show the amount received is MUCH greater than what is needed. hurray for useless USF fees! |

| The USF is a slush fund for large Telephone companies. They receive all the proceeds from the USF. It is a a tax for a private corporation. The rate is set based on the expenses the Telephone companies say it costs them to provide internet access to schools and Libraries. Since there is zero oversight, the program is wrought with fraud and waste. -- "Regulatory capitalism is when companies invest in lawyers, lobbyists, and politicians, instead of plant, people, and customer service." - former FCC Chairman William Kennard (A real FCC Chairman, unlike the current Corporate Spokesperson in the job!) |
