| Who needs the speed? Throttling will just make people realize they don't need the speed. If all we are going to use the internet for is:
1. Web browsing (slow with all the ads but I use a hosts.zip file to block most of them)
2. Read your web mail (mostly SPAM anyway)
3. Watch some video from YouTube or the Associated Press.
4. Newsgroups? Full of advertising these days.
Might as well go back to 1500/768 if this is all we're left with. Why buy fios or 8,000/768 Comcast if the speed limit is 15mph? |
