Re: Que Pendejos!!

Id be more ticked off at $1.70 a gig basically. When it costs less then .10 cents to carry a gig.

I generally agree -- but is your 10 cent (or did you really mean .1 cent?) estimate valid for an Atlantic island?

Are you affected by Comcast's RST forging? How to test it! -or- Read my original report.

Yep. Puerto Rico has Fiber connections to the Internet, just like the rest of us. Their bandwidth expenses aren't really any different then ours, for example.

Yeah, like running undersea fiber is as cheap as trenching the earth and covering it back up. Nor is it as plentiful as terrestrial fiber.

Having lived on an island for five years, I can tell you that *everything* is more expensive except sea water.

Maybe they should just run it in a trench on the ocean floor. Then you just use the cheaper terrestrial fiber. Or just run it aerial.

Actually the $.10 cent is the highest traffic rates I have seen to any island. So I used that as the water mark. Checking Pr it's costing them $.005 a gig to the island and $.008 from they estimate it at $.006 a gig both ways on a bill.

Bear in mind that doesn't touch the last mile transport cost.

BTW living on an island can be quite cheap if you like fresh items but getting anything sent there does cost a small fortune.
