| AT&T is getting on my last nerve!
I got a call telling me that U-Verse was available in my neighborhood, FINALLY! I'm on the FTTP platform. I tried to order it on the spot, but the rep told me there was a problem with his system and he'd have to call me back. Fast forward 3 days. No call back. I called AT&T FTTP just now, and was told my address was set to go live on August 6th, but it's still not "green." I explained to him that UVERSE was marketed to me, and he told me that was not possible, as my area is not green yet. I'm getting very fed up with the mis-information! They still show August 6th as the "green" date for my address, however, it's almost a month after that and they still can't get their stuff straight. Does anyone know what might be causing this, and who I can contact to get the correct answer? I'm about a day away from just dropping AT&T and going with Cox, as much as I want to give U-Verse a try. -- -Put this in your profile if you know someone who is fighting, has survived, or died from ninja attacks. |

Aug 6th was the launch date for "parts" of OKC. I guess that's what he was seeing? I tried to ask him this but he said "No, it says that was supposed to be the green date FOR YOUR ADDRESS." Then again, I had to give my phone number, name, and address to him REPEATEDLY and SLOWLY because he kept saying "wait, you lost me...I got 405...what was the rest?" I also had to repeat my zip code four times. I speak very clearly....so I'm not really sure what to believe at this point. |

| reply to MarkyD Yikes.. What a foul up. Can't say I'm surpised, though.. been dealin' with AT&T/SWBell so long now, hahaha.
Hey, look, I know you're really lookin' forward to having the service, but if it makes ya feel even a tiny little bit better.. Lemme just say that you're certainly not missing anything. My family, for the most part, hates U-verse and wants me to cancel it. I like it, but maybe just because I like the idea of it and the technology behind it. It hasn't really given me any problems lately (aside from this nasty HDMI mess their latest patch broke), so it's not that.. It's just lacking so many features and capabilities that have been available on other services for a long time.
Anyway, not to get way off topic. Hope you can get it soon! |

| reply to MarkyD I'm done. Cox came knocking this morning with a much better deal than I'm getting from AT&T - and over 2x the downstream speed (15/1mbps.) Peace out, AT&T, you had your chance. -- -Put this in your profile if you know someone who is fighting, has survived, or died from ninja attacks. |

So in effect you took yourself off the unreplied list. We watch the unreplied list to address new threads that haven't been addressed yet. It's typically known in the forums around here and most will tell you "Not to reply to your own thread" cause what do we think? We think "Oh one of the other guys got the thread and addressed it already." and we pay it no mind, cause in our mind if it is replied to that means someone picked it up. -- If you have a topic in the direct forum please reply to it or a post of mine, I get a notification when you do this. | reply to MarkyD Yes, but Comcast will monitor your bandwidth usage. They do have a max and will call you on it even if they don't tell you what that max is. There have been people that have had Comcast cut their access for an entire year for going over their limit. To this day, no one knows what that limit is, and Comcast will not tell you if you ask. Just don't go over and you will be fine. LOL |

| I said Cox, not comcast. Cox has limits too, but they don't enforce them. I had Cox when I lived in OKC before and never had a problem... Either way, my Cox appointment is not until next Tuesday. If Mr. David can get me some information on when UVERSE will really be here, I'll be happy to cancel that install and give ATT another chance at my business. |

| reply to MarkyD Well, I called AT&T to cancel my services effective this Thursday. Cox is coming out tomorrow to install my Internet/Phone. I just need the basic phone line, but I'm getting 12/1 Premier service.
Phone is costing me $10 a month including tax, and internet (12/1) will be $41.95. It works out to be a little cheaper than what I'm paying with AT&T, and 2x the speed. I'll be keeping my Dish Network for the TV portion. -- -Put this in your profile if you know someone who is fighting, has survived, or died from ninja attacks. |

| reply to MarkyD I really hate the way the Direct forum software works. It's like your told to perfectly state your complaint and then shut your mouth for days on end or face being dropped off of the face of the planet.
I'm also right behind your Marky. It kills me that I'm FTTP and yet I can only get 5MB downloads. I've got various friends with TW Cable service and they swear they get 7-10MB. Getting real close to saying adios AT&T. |

Actually it was a request here made by most and actually became a feature. You can edit your request for up to 3 days in the direct forums now. Not just at&t, all of them. The only thing is just don't reply to them. Edit before you reply. Replying knocks it off the list we see.
It's not the greatest system in the world, but it's 85% better than what we had. We had some people that would IM us as least once every 10 minutes, and they would do it to all of us. -- If you have a topic in the direct forum please reply to it or a post of mine, I get a notification when you do this. My neighbor and amigo just had Cox 12/1 installed, and he's seeing 14mbps downloads SUSTAINED - not powerboost, but SUSTAINED over large downloads. His pings are also rock solid. That pretty much made up my mind. |
