If Embarq provided 5/650 service to this area where I lived I would happily ditch Comcast's 8mbit, unreliable, and over-restricted service. I payed more when I was with Embarq and now I think I realize why. Even though I don't like telcos that much I must say that being able to use my connection as I see fit and it being there when I want to use it is well worth the extra money.
I was in an area that had some difficulties with the 5/640 upgrade but it was sorted out in a few days. Meanwhile, with Comcast I have an outage or two every month. It sucks to be here with them as the only broadband provider (I don't count satellite, bad DIRECWAY experience). -- The statement below is true. The statement above is false. |

| In this area with Embarq it was EVERY single evening. All peak usage hours would slow down to a crawl! Heck, the CO is right up the street from me too, I can't imagine how bad folks connections further away were!!! CHI & ROA hops were the problematic ones as well as the local once in a blue moon (due to a port going bad). The local Techs even had a fit over them raising this area to 5M because they said it couldn't support the 3M package as it was, rofl, I bet they are really getting peeved about this 10M package!!
We have Comcrap here as well, and in this area it is actually far more reliable and far faster then Embarq is. -- Images are Copyrighted and use is NOT permitted. What is RSD? |

| I already have!!! Thankfully!! But I still have to deal with the BS for another 4-5mths yet. Out of all the folks I got to get Embarq service I have them all switched to Comcast now except for one who still has a bit left on their contract. So every outage I get to play Mr. Tech and tell them it is not their problem but Embarq's yet again for another evening, lol. |
