this whole issue is ironically funny...

The irony of the ultimate proprietary system, ANYTHING FROM APPLE, and the pure greed of these TV people squabbling over OUR MONEY is funny.

We are talking about something that can only be played back on your iPod right? So if you want to watch on your TV you will need to buy another version somewhere right? Or can you stream your iTunes content from your computer? Of course try moving that content to another computer and see what shakes loose...

So, we are having Apple telling TV that they are too expensive? Best motto I learned in college is "...Apple Computer...you cannot pay more and get less..." Of course that was when the price for an Apple computer did not include such mundane items as a monitor, keyboard, mouse...let alone printers video, modems, etc...and to qualify for their "student financing" one had to have an income of over $26,000/year...yeah that was 1990 and this is now...but it's still the same company...now Apple is considering itself an arbiter for "the people"??? Oh the irony...

Sorry if I want a TV show I will simply find a DVD on eBay or Amazon...buy the cheapest one I can find and then never worry about any of it again...and oh yeah, Apple wants to restrict your ability to move content ripped from your DVD over to your iPod...but they are here to protect us from the evil TV people...and who protects the world from Steve Jobs?

I can buy a whole (or multiple) season DVD on eBay for under $20 with shipping...why pay even $2 per episode for more restrictive content? Dudes it is simply not worth the effort.

Uhm, maybe because DVD copies don't come out until months after the entire season gas aired. iTunes is mainly used to get shows right after they air.

Everything gets cheaper over time. It all depends on when you want to actually get the product. I could get my PC for $100 in a few years, but I bought it recently, because I want to use it today.

Talk about uninformed... sheesh. It's Microsoft that is proprietary - Apple's content is AAC and MPEG-4/H.264, standards.

Wrong. It will play on your computer.

No.

Yes, to an Apple TV connected to any widescreen television.
Of course try moving that content to another computer and see what shakes loose...
Nothing "shakes loose." You can put it on as many as 5 computers, and as many iPods as you wish.

Bullshit. Apple's computers always included a keyboard and mouse, until recently when they released the Mac mini which is INTENDED to let PC switchers bring their own monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
let alone printers video, modems, etc...
Modems and monitors are built-in in every iMac since 1998. What's a "printers video?"
and to qualify for their "student financing" one had to have an income of over $26,000/year..
LOL - if that's all you make, you have no business buying a top of the line computer.
and oh yeah, Apple wants to restrict your ability to move content ripped from your DVD over to your iPod
Says who? Just convert it to H.264. There are many utilities to do that. If you are ripping DVDs you are already breaking the CSS.

You may have made a few helpful corrections or offered a different perspective but basically you are, well...unbalanced it appears.

Apparently you are the Apple zealot...but not the cute fuzzy variety instead you seem to be the variety which can't stand the direct questions and must always resort to insults. Steve Jobs loves you, you buy him Ferrari's...to everyone else, you are simply obnoxious.

Apple remains a very over valued product catalog...I do like their new laptops but, wait, they are now all WinTel systems in reality...and are not the most well made laptops around by a long shot.

As to money, reading is fundamental sweetheart...first the $26k requirement was for STUDENT PURCHASE program...even today 17-years after that issue (when I was earning two grad degrees), how many students do you know earning $26k/yr...

And the same goes for the comment about when everything was EXTRA...if you could read rather then rage/shout-down at anyone who has a different POV then perhaps you and Ann Coulter could convince someone, anyone of even the tiniest detail. In the mean time I let you return to your fascism. BTW, the lovely way you craft your language speaks well of you and all Apple brethren...rage on princess!!

Personal attacks are in violation of the posting guidelines. That means name-calling in case it's unclear.

What questions? All you said were typical Apple untruths that we have heard ad nauseam for 23 years.

Just admit you don't know anything about Apple, instead of getting all defensive.

They rank #1 in all 3 categories of Consumer Reports, and #1 in technical support.

So get a loan from somewhere else.

It's not a POV; it's simply a fact. You were wrong. I didn't pay extra for my Mac in 1984, or for any Mac since then, for a keyboard or mouse.
