The base of that antenna is probably a cover which is snapped on. You can pry it off to get to the screws that hold the antenna to the fender of the truck. But, don't do that- it's not made to be removed temporarily. You shouldn't have any trouble going through a car wash. My daughter's Explorer and my wife's Camaro (with similar antennas) have never been hurt.

Kailua Kona, HI		 Thanks for the feedback. My concern is that the antenna would damage the windshield during the automated car wash process.
