Uhm, maybe because DVD copies don't come out until months after the entire season gas aired. iTunes is mainly used to get shows right after they air.

Everything gets cheaper over time. It all depends on when you want to actually get the product. I could get my PC for $100 in a few years, but I bought it recently, because I want to use it today.
