I was outside and heard it coming, then felt the ground shake. Not a bad little shaker. Hope we dont have a bigger one anytime soon.

Felt it here at USC. One of the USGS maps claimed a 4.7 followed by a 2.x, which seems to be what I felt.. Some moderate shaking for a couple seconds, slowed down, then more shaking. Whole thing was about 7-10 seconds.

This fresh off the heals of being in Oakland during the Oakland earthquake a couple weeks back

Didn't feel a thing here in my house in Glendora. Only 10-15 miles from the epicenter? Of course my house is on a hillside made of Granite so it probably absorbed most of the jolt.

Felt the initial 4.7, but not the followup 2.5. It was an initial jolt, then LOTS of earthquakey noise, ending with a last shake and it was over. Fun stuff.

Pretty much the same in Redlands. Curious why it still hasn't shown up on this USGS site: »pasadena.wr.usgs.gov/recenteqs/latest.htm

4.7 quake jolts O.C.
Epicenter said to be 2 miles beneath Santiago peak in the Santa Ana Mountains.
From wire and staff reports

A preliminary magnitude 4.7 earthquake rattled Orange County today at 10:29 today, and was centered under the Santa Ana mountain range.

Automated seismographs reported that the earthquake's tentative epicenter was estimated to be eight miles west-northwest of the Riverside County city of Lake Elsinore.

an Orange Register reporter, who lives in Trabuco Canyon, said he felt one sharp jolt. "It was over pretty quickly, Jonathan Lansner said.

The quake was also felt as far away as Encino in the San Fernando Valley.

The epicenter is near, and two miles beneath, the summit of Santiago Peak, the largest peak in the Santa Ana Mountain range in of Orange County.

I didn't feel it. WTF? I'm very disappointed. I love a good shaker every once in a while.

I'm in Aliso Viejo, so I definitely should have felt it. I must have been doing something.

Wow, that was a 4.7, it felt like nothing. At first I thought a truck was driving by, by then I realized that it's not possible where I live and realized it was a quake and then the one good jolt hit and that was that. I live pretty much on the hill where it generated.

My dog is useless at letting me know when they're coming. He was just sitting there and when it ended, he hopped up with a "that was fun" look on his face. Useless.
