Yet sure west has 40 GB caps. Not sure about paxio. Either way, symmetrical ain't worth a SH*T if it has low low caps on it. What good does the fast speed do if you can't use it. Hell, I got evdo and a counter on my laptop. I tabulated that a few hours of browsing alone (watching youtube, streaming music from local station, etc)... Everything Legal... Eats around 700MB-1GB. 40 GB would be reached in no time. Hence, i'd rather take slower internet than see caps. If an ISP is willing to give 10/10 unlimited, I'd say more power to them. Until that day, the ones offering it are no real competition or incentive for others to build out.

The caps(pretty sure) are on the 10/10(Sure West) service.

20/20 I think are either higher or not there/not inforced...

*FOR ME* Paxio at 20/20 would be fine!
Seeing as I rarely go over 30GB now... caps don't really pose a problem.

With all due respect, a few hours of YouTubing, web browsing and a streaming radio station will NOT eat up 700-1000MB. I think you forgot to mention that you also had BearShare and Azureus running, too.

Nope. Streaming audio from local radio station and browsing youtube and normal web surfing equated to around 2-300 MB for an hour. I don't use p2p. My laptop has a counter due to EVDO. You'd be amazed at how quickly bandwidth is consumed. You often do not think about images on websites. They are a few MB each. If you visit an imagine intensive site or browse like CNN, you quickly consume BW. Try it sometime. Load up a bandwidth counter and do normal stuff. Browse web, steam audio, check out youtube, etc for an hour or two. You'll find I am more than right with a 200-300 MB estimate. Figure someone is on there half the day due to work or what not, and you got your 700-1 GB used daily.

As for surewest, it all has caps if I recall.

Yep, they do have caps, but a bit higher than you posted:

Thought they did. Thanks for update. As to the debate on caps, I am heavily against them. America is moving backwards while many countries in Europe surpass us. Providers there offer 10/10 and higher with no caps in several countries. Sure, I know the government subsidizes some of it, but we do too. We give huge tax breaks to Telcos and Cable companies to build out. We give them incentives to build in low density areas. Nothing different is happening there than here. The problem we're facing are companies that are getting their cake and ice cream, too. Due to lack of competition in many areas, companies can charge what they want, restrict their service, and impose invisible clauses. It's ridiculous. I am a firm believer that if my tax dollars are going to help PRIVATE industry, then we must see something on our return. Otherwise, let muni projects like Utopia and others take over. Tax dollars were well spent on that when these other companies can barely offer high speed to large, dense cities. To anyone that argues, I say give me a break.
