..something we've had in effect for quite awhile now:

Canadian Line Monitors

Justin has stated that all those who are part of a "group" will have line monitoring services without toolpoint deduction at this time.

This is where you need to go to get setup & sign on:
*Note:
Would be helpful to indicate your city in the description
* Sign-Up * .
Make sure when you're done to click "Create Monitor".

Also (almost forgot):

Go to your profile page and add it to the profile +

»/prefs/flair

Use the drop down to add an entry to "My Home Connection"

That way your connection speed, modem, and router info show.

DKS and Devanchya are you sure you're pingable?

I've pinged myself a few times already. Sympatico here has been dropping my ip address about once every 22 minutes. It's not line quality, it's sympatico's system doing it. Driving me mad since ZoneEdit only lets you edit every 5 minutes and some day's it is dropping more often than that.

So this is last call.

It's actually a really good service Justin has with these monitors.

I honestly had not set one up because I never got around to it.

I can now tell that my service is rock solid 99% of the time. I do know that I get disconnected and reconnected ever 6 hours. The total disconnection is about 30 seconds.

I'm disconnected when the computer is off . Usually between 12-1AM when I turn it off for the night, up until 12-3PM whenever I wake up .

It is indeed a very nice service as it really does show what your connection appears to be like from another location, and in this case, 3 locations
