King Grub
@etanet.se | It's not a "problem" with the program - it's normal.

| Re: New CounterSpyV.2 memory use said by Oleg :Are you saying CounterSpy is not good? Negatory, Oleg. I don't know the program. I was saying that it's not 'normal' for an A/V or A/S application to quite noticeably slow down a machine.
And that if you didn't look at how much memory the app was using, it might use less-- although maybe (and probably) not.
You tell me if CounterSpy is any good (seriously). From what I hear, it might slow your system down.

I still have a valid subscription but I stopped using it due to huge memory consumption.

Nope, but with that low RAM amount (two processes), none CPU real time usage and one of the best real time protection, you surely would not want to use anything different and heavier. IMO of course. -- Diazruanova

| Re: New CounterSpyV.2 memory use True but I all ready have my suite and I just want a good on demand scanner. I use NOd32 and BoClean the rest I run on demand (i.e. SuperAntispyware, Spybot, Outpost Anti-spyware and Spycop). So I honestly don't want another process running in the background I just want an ON-demand scanner. I am sick and tired training software and I would not want another gazillion pop-ups asking me if I want to do this and that. I allready have enough. | |

Well, in that case, I think you are more than covered, and certainly you would not want another intruding software. Just one question, why don´t you use as residents your Superantyspyware and Nod 32 and leave everything else as on demand? I think that way, you would have covered your bases even more than with the NOD and BOclean combo, again IMO. -- Diazruanova

| I have been running CS for a long time and this version is not only using very low RAM amount BUT it does not uses almost anything of the CPU cycles it used to run on the previous version:
RAM: 29.8 M CPU: 0 %
I am running W2K with 1 Gb RAM and there is not a slow down at all. -- Diazruanova

| counterspy slowed my system down as well (also 1 gig RAM)- same type of issues you are having oleg.
i found SAS Pro's realtime protections quite unobtrusive. If you want free, Spyware Terminator 2.0 wasnt bad either.
I tested a whole slew of AS's before deciding on SAS Pro. Spysweeper, Counterspy, Spyware Doctor and PrevX antimalware all slowed down my system noticeably.
i say test em all, and whatever works for you, go with it. -- Hike up your skirt a little more, and show your world to me.
