| F-Prot as overall AV-Malware-Spyware Scanner?
Hello,
I'm just curious as to what the general concensus is for F-Prot. I know it's a very good Av scanner and it's light on resources. Just curious how it does concerning ...
a. Trojans b. Malware in general c. Spyware and adware...
Any users here that would love to rave about it?
I noticed - $29 for up to 5 computers... That's a good deal.

| Since you are referring more towards the detection criteria, I think AV-Comparatives sums it up fairly. As like other AV companies, they are always looking to improve the product.
There is a general thread in Wilders about F-PROT here: »www.wilderssecurity.com/showthre···t=f-prot
I am using F-PROT for my 3 PC home network. They are all running smoothly with no noticeable slowdowns. I love the product and the Frisk team personally!! You can also visit their forum page to gather more information or even open a thread for the experts and responsive fans to respond. |

| FPAV 6 is a big step up in malware detection compared to F-Prot 3.
Overall, malware detection rate is good and more than sufficient if you are low-risk surfer.
Trojan/Backdoor detection is good as viewed at recent test-sites; for example, in the recent av-comparatives on-demand test, FPAV 6 scored 92% in picking up this type of malware.
Spyware detection per se probably lags behind some of the better known AVs but this can easily be covered with an AS application either in real-time or on-demand.
While not yet in the league of KAV/NOD for total malware detection, other features of FPAV 6 that make it a good choice as a primary AV scanner include; a light footprint, excellent support, very stable, very fast on-demand scanner speed, good heuristics, fast incremental updating and as you have already stated, if you have more than 2 computers, an unbeatable Home license for a commercial AV. |

| reply to StraitShoot Nice and light, and I like the price - $30 for a 5 computer license sure beats the hell out of most others - but it presented me several false positives. -- Think outside the fox...Seamonkey |

A Temporary fix is to place the file(s)in the EXCLUSIONS until Frisk produce a new signature. |
