 | Actual vs posted speed for ADSL2+ Can anyone here who as signed up for Lightning Bolt's ADSL2+ service report their test speed vs the speed posted for their contract? Or, even better yet, direct me to a customer experience list for the same information?
ADSL2+ sounds like a great way to up my upload speed without choking my wallet yet, as we all know, you don't always get what is posted. When I asked LB, I was told (rather curtly) to go read the service agreement, which, to my read, doesn't even guarantee a percentage of the posted speed.
I am very tempted but do not want to be trapped into a contract and not get any serious performance increase. |

But don't forget to factor in TCP overhead. We allow users to upgrade or downgrade speed packages at anytime, so if for some reason you sign up for the 15.0 package, but your line can only support 12.0 sync, then you could downgrade to save money.
Also, don't forget we give you a 21 day satisfaction period (which is listed in the ToS). This allows you to make sure the speed, and service meets your needs before you are locked into a contract.
But as I'm sure you are aware, ADSL is best effort service, from any provider, and no ADSL provider will be able to guarantee you any speed. -- Lightning Bolt Technologies |

 | reply to sonicbuddha Wow, now thats a quick reply! If your support answers at anywhere close to this speed, well, color me impressed.
Still, I'd like to hear a customer's experience. Note that getting near 1Mb up for anywhere near $100 a month is mouth watering.
Is the service licensed through through Covad? |
