Besides clearing a lot of useless junk off the screen, it saves the time needed to resolve the addresses and also download all the ads. This makes browsing with an ad blocker even faster. Most of the slowness I ever see with web pages is from the ad servers. Things are much quicker now. Plus... Just think of all the precious bandwidth we are saving......
