| Me too!
Wow, it is really easy to find this type of news? How bad is the US? How much do we suck? We deserve more?
Shut up. Guess what, I have 1 GB fiber connection to my house from my ISP. Why, just because my Dad owns an ISP and the fiber ran past my house.
Big deal, should I be on a story because we achieved some amazing 1 GB connection over 20 miles on fiber to the home in Youngsville PA, a very rural location?
Or should I be impressed in french innovation? I read a story yesterday, no not on BBR, that said the US is the leader in the world as far as productivity goes. Now, if I read two stories in the last two days I would come to this conclusion... the people in the US work harder, the french play more on the PC at home, watch more TV, and talk more on the phone?
How about changing the whole "reporting" aspect of BBR and actually not be biased. Get real, BBR is big enough they should be able to have actual stories, maybe even ones that mean something to US. |

| Funny. I should correct things though, I own my own home. It is his fiber that passes my home.
Sad part about it is we do not need it. I have 3 kids, and we use a little VOIP, a little data, and have directv for TV. Plus, I run a little home business. But really, 1 meg would be fine anyway. My fastest downloads are maybe 5-8 megs per second anyway.
I have DSL from Verizon too. Just in case |

| reply to keyboard5684 I'm as American as they come and was just working for a huge French company in NYC and it was fun, if they'd offered to send me to Paris, I'd have taken the offer, from them and would setup this 100mb/50mb thing. Plus I could make a past GF jealous as all hell. I don't work there now, they're moving to NJ and I didn't want any part of that.
Paris is one thing, NJ quite another.
It's not innovation though they do have some really good software writers, really good, they should ya know. It's in THIS CASE about really cool pricing. I pay more than that in NYC for some standard cable link with a crappy UL speed.
I kind of miss the surprise wine tastings they held during the middle of the day every few months.
The French aren't our enemies ya know. They're some pretty mellow folks who have their own opinions as do we. Sometimes it's the differences that make good friends. |

Speaking of biased, sounds like you're biased. Don't like to hear reports that challenge your viewpoint? So therefore, they are biased and shouldn't be reported on, right? -- "Regulatory capitalism is when companies invest in lawyers, lobbyists, and politicians, instead of plant, people, and customer service." - former FCC Chairman William Kennard (A real FCC Chairman, unlike the current Corporate Spokesperson in the job!) |

| Longer and harder hours, F that.
Wake up, that's not the goal of life.
I've had folks in big companies tell me that I'm the best writer that they've had there and trust me, working long hours isn't what I strive for. I try to write properly the first time and be done with it, that goal isn't always possible, but it's better than having some useless middlemen in there.
If there's some problem or some production issue, I'll be there to correct it, but I do try to minimize that. And, I speak English. More than a lot of folks here can say. Unfortunately with the pathetic outsourcing here to have a proper meeting I have to put on a freakin' decoder ring, then things take like 10x longer when you include people that can't speak English properly and useless middlemen. |

| said by mohito :Longer and harder hours, F that. Wake up, that's not the goal of life. Exactly. When people quote the US Productivity, sure that's great for Corporate earnings but what it means is US employees working harder and longer, so is that such a great thing for the worker and his family?
Answer: Usually not!

| reply to keyboard5684 your dad owns an ISP and you get 1gb while the rest of us pay $100's. Yeah your right this is the story instead. You have all the time in the world to say what you want because your not the one paying for any of it. Thats like owning a car dealership and getting on a car site and say "cars aren't that expensive whats your problem". Must be nice to have stuff handed to you whenever you want. |

| reply to KrK I don't know since I avoid being part of that.
But clearly what you write assumes a lot which isn't so. That has little to do with corporate earnings.
Productivity is bullshit. I'm not here on this Earth to "be productive."
Answer: Leave it to some sheep. "Usually" indeed |
