| Adblockers getting popular?
Imagine that....
I wonder why they are getting popular? Could it be people are getting more tech savvy or people are just getting tired of the obtrusive ads.
1) If there are ads on the webpage, why do I need pop-ups or pop ups that move across the screen? Feels like an idiot trying to catch a popup.
2) Why do I need ads that talk to me or make annoying sounds that I have to mute the volume? I already have enough annoyance in my life, thank you very much.
3) How come there are websites that show a popup a page with just an ad, gives you the option to close it but the page never closes? Has to double check my mouse to see if it's actually working.
4) If I click on one ad why to they all of a sudden have to send me targeted ads? Paints a bulls-eye on my forehead and use me as target practice.
5) Why do websites have to track me? Makes me feel like a criminal for just clicking a ad.
6) How come when you move your mouse pointer over a ad it has to blow up 10 times the size and almost makes me fall out of the chair? Excuse me, I am not that blind. If I didn't click on it the first time it probably wasn't worth seeing to begin with. |

| .... and don't forget that lovely 'peeling page' that starts to roll down anytime your mouse gets near it .... or the people that start walking across the bottom of the screen and start talking to you ... or that lovely intellitxt that pops up that little text box over everything that you are trying to read every time your mouse goes over a link.
... and all those lovely stats and tracking scripts and images. Do some of these sites really need that many different ones on the same site? The heatmap has got to be my favorite ... it tracks everywhere you move your mouse pointer on the page. -- EasyList, EasyElement, & ABP Tracking Filter Subscriptions for Adblock Plus |
