SMCWBR14-G Slow in accessing internal setup

My router is becoming very slow when I try to access advanced setup routines. When I input the password, through my browser, it takes 1-2 minutes to bring up the login page and the same for any pages past that. This router has been very reliable, so this surprises me.

I have never seen any firmware for this router, did I miss something? Is my router dieing?

Is the SMCWBR1-G2 a good replacement for the 11b and 11g equipment I currently have.

TIA

Al

Any reason why getting the internal data is so slow?

My dsl is at 1.5 mg down and pages (even embarq home page) loads in 3 to 5 seconds, but my gui on my prestige wireless router still takes a minute some times to load ? I always contributed it to load on the modem. internet conn., memmory usage (doing alot at one time.)

I find the problem may be more with the browser you use, set the Router address i.e. 192.168.2.1 in the trusted zone of the IE, and use it.

I finally had to get rid of this router. It was slowly dieing. It would show a signal on NetStumbler but I couldn't get a good enough signal on my laptop 5 feet away. I think this was just a slow process that I didn't see it for what it was.

I used a signal from a wireless a block away and it worked just fine, even at half the signal strength of this unit.

I finally went out and bought a new router and "viola" a great signal on all my network.

Thanks for your input.
