well, corporations only care about bringing the masses to their products at first, and stick it too the previous customers. They think short term, only on the current, and not down the road when a customer might actually jump ship. They got their money, they don't care |

well also don't forget... AT&T is selling it not apple. so apple didn't make $200 profit necessarily then vs now. AT&T made some form of profit.
cell phone prices fluctuate by $100+ easily in the first few months of coming out. my $300 blackberry that i bought 2 months ago can now be bought for $99.
big whoop. |

Apple has done this for years thats why I don't buy their products!
They tick off their customers every time they come out with a new product.
They will see none of my cash! LOL, its a wonder you buy from anyone then. I have yet to see *any* electronics that don't degredate in price over time.
It's funny. Apple leapfrogs conventional electronics sales methods by offering a feel-good free store credit...and you're saying that their customer service sucks. You can't have your cake and eat it too, I'm afraid. |

Not WITH a two year contract. Even $399 is a lot bound by a two year contract. The Itouch is going to kill off all those Iphone sales anyway. |

When the price of your Samsung drops, how much are you going to get back? Who cares.. it will always be cheaper then the whyPhone anyway. It just cracks me up that those who paid all that money is crying about the difference in price. Suck it up and consider keep bragging about being the 1st to get it.. |

| reply to WileEC said by WileEC :Personally, I like to bash Apple and the fanbois because they both make me sick. Apple for being such a disgusting, predatorial company that preys on the stupid and gullable consumers (& fanbois) who buy their overpriced products oftentimes without any actual need for a particular product - and they'll often pay any price. Yes, because phones are not available for free, right? And everyone needs amazing products such as Apple TV... LOL! - another total and complete waste of time and money. Of course, Apple also preys on the unfortunate... Who do you think makes all the shiny new gadgets they so savilly market? Can you say nearly slave-level Chinese labor boys and girls? You mean like Microsoft, right?
said by WileEC :Also, I love how the fanbois defend the mothership. Its soooooooooooooooooooo very amusing!!! The press is bought and owned by Apple and they fawn over the company - they practically fall over themselves to cover the news every time Steve Jobs farts. You are talking about your buds at Microsoft, right? You just got the name wrong. |

Amen brotha!
I find it extremely amusing that the people making the loudest noise about it are those who (over)paid for this thing in the first place, not the so-called "bashers". None of them are that stupid.
And then there is the usual rush to defend Apple no matter what they've done. Ha!
So much for being customer-centric here.
Enjoy your weekend. -- Toolmaster of La Grange. |

| reply to Gandalf4503 Hmmm, the same sort of thing happened with my Samsung Blackjack. I paid some $250 for it, but it's $99 now.
I don't even want to talk about the Cingular 8525 piece of sh*t that we paid around $400 for that went down to $99. I say it's a POS because my third one has died and needs to be exchanged.
Drastic drops in phone prices seem pretty normal to me. |
