 | cheap plastic stuff $100 is nothing when given in store credit. People going to spend $100 on iPhone accessories actually worth $10 to $20. The markup on accessories is sometimes 300 to 500%. A real deal would have been a $300 credit or $100 cash. $200 price drop is a crazy seems like they are trying to help At&t get people signed up, Apple got there money when At&t signed contract with them. Glad I waited and instead bought a treo 755 for $200 off craigslist. |

Again, part of buying cutting-edge electronics is price degredation. It always has been, and always will. The fact that Apple is giving back "shafted" customers *anything* is well above and beyond what the customer is entitled to. |

But don't you think that $100 store credit is not really a good will effort. Go to the apple store and look at the stuff you could buy for an iphone, that stuff probably cost $2 to $3 and they charge $20 to $50 for most things. So it is possible you can spend $100 store credit and actually have a product worth $6. I would rather not receive anything at all instead of be insulted with a $100 store credit not actually worth $100. My experience working at BestBuy for 2 years has shown me just how much electronics are marked up by companies. |

Getting anything back at this point, however, is a good will effort considering the outright shafting customers usually get from cutting-edge price degredation. Apple could've been like any other company and told customers to get bent...but they chose a PR move to offer something to their customers, even if it is a token amount of store credit.
I apologize for the previous sarcasm, but complaining about the amount of store credit issued, or demanding cash back certainly seems like looking a gift horse in the mouth here. |
