Stupendous : As promised, here's my review:

Placed the order on 9/11 for 8.0/1.0 Business Select OneLink ADSL2+ (I have been a OneLink 3.0/768 customer since Feb 06). Everything progressed along. Telco date was set for 9/20- they did what they had to and my loop length came through at 7910 ft (8.0/10 is the max).

Covad install date was set for 9/27. The tech came around with a Broadxent 8012-G1 modem, install went more-or-less like a dream. The line stress up until the NID was at 30dB, and the internal wiring had 0 stress. This means my download maxed out at 6081kb/s and upload maxed out at 900kb/s. Covad/Speakeasy is going to investigate this matter and maybe drop the line down to increase the stability- I don't see why because the link hasn't gone down yet. Hopefully Verizon will sort their garbage line out and I'll go up to 7/7.5Mbit/s.

Overall, this is superb and I'm loving it. Good stuff. I pay almost that amount for the Legacy Plan, the original ADSL, which ended up being about 768 up and down minus over head. That's about 1/2 T1 which was fine by me. I still have it and am happy with it most of the time, but it would sure be nice to get a bit more speed. Plus I'm guessing SE's price will top $200.00 with all the "taxes" added on as well. Come on Speakeasy, lets offer a competitive 15/2 plan at $129-149.00. That's still 25-50% more than Fios(before taxes). I'll bet people would jump all over that.

djpiazza : Scooby & mackintire, Re-read my post.

I am talking about Business use. I am comparing SE new ADSL2 to the Business Fios plan. Unlimited & open server policy. I have set up several FIOS business accounts for small biz clients and all currently run servers(mostly SBS). Yes, SE has never been cheap, and I don't expect them to be for the quality service they offer, but i do wish there pricing would be inline with the current business offerings from others. Verizon Business Fios is $99.00 for 15/2 with Static IP (1 or 5). That's almost 1/2 Speakeasy's price for their 15/1 service. I know LBDSL offers ADSL2 business plans now at the same tiers as SE for $50.00-$70.00 less, although I've never tried them. That is my complaint. I have been a very loyal SE customer for many years now and have signed up dozens of clients with their service. I have been hanging on, but they just don't seem to be on the same page as other business offerings. I am waiting for the "official" announcement, but it doesn't look good.
