Its the unlimited bandwidth and open server policy you are paying for. Try downloading 1 terabyte on the verizon service. At a minimum you will get a warning. If you are unlucky they will terminate your service. Also with verizon you get a dynamic IP address.

Speakeasy typically caters to the business end of the market. But don't worry they are investigating all their options

That said....I just took a look at speakeasy's pricing. They revamped the pricing for residential. I'm hoping it's a typo because the 1.5/384 is now 1.5/256 and it has gone up in price. I sure hope they get creative soon otherewise they are going to continue to lose the remaining residental customers that they have.
