thanks rick for putting everything out of perspective.
a)your so called 20,000kbps connection is temporary. It's just for the first few mbps of a download.
b)comcast max here is 8m, dsl is 6m here in hollywood fl. that's not much a difference to gloat about.
c)when i go on-line ANYTIME of the day I get my 6mbps regardless of how many people are on-line on my block and regardless if they use bitTorrent.
d)your not preaching to the choir here so take your gross exaggerations and lies elsewhere. THE GIG IS UP!

Ok, so you are saying that it's ok for high bandwidth users to consume as much as they want as long as they pay you more money. So in the end it has NOTHING to do with protecting the network or giving other users a better experience it's about more $$$ for you!

a)my 20,000k connection covers virtually everything I want to download including all updates and most programs and, even for the files it doesn't fully download at powerboost speeds, one has to average out the time that it does give those speeds.

b)With powerboost, for the majority of what people use their connections for..the speeds are far greater than 6Mb or 8Mb.
And, as you well know, dsl speeds are VERY dependent on a persons distance and the VAST majority of people can get nowhere near the 6Mb tier. In fact, even your 6Mb tier is really a 5.4Mb one in disguise including overhead.

c)I have absolutely no problems at all getting my full speeds.
In fact, night or day and even at primetime..I now rarely see anything under 17,000k.

d)Sorry, but I don't exaggerate anything..and certainly lie about nothing. If there is a gig that is up..it's with any telco who isn't now planning on a FTTH network.

And, we both know who that is.

Then they should not advertise it as UNLIMITED internet if it is LIMITED in some way.

Comcast here 10mb. Bellsouth/ATT here 3mb.
Comcast has powerboost. Bellsouth/ATT none.
Comcast costs around $8/month more.

Yep. Funny how so many people seem to have gotten the idea that the usage is unlimited, when Comcast supposedly never advertised that.

Perhaps the problem was implication, and an assumption that a company operating in good faith would be upfront about important usage limitations, rather than bury them in vague terms and agreements.
